International Steering Group

Following the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Kosovo on 17 February 2008, upon the request of Kosovo’s leaders, a group of States formed the International Steering Group (ISG) on 28 February 2008 download

The Member States of the ISG are:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The primary purpose of the ISG is to support full implementation of the Comprehensive Proposal for the Kosovo Status Settlement of UN Special Envoy Martti Ahtisaari of 26 March 2007.

The ISG helps guide Kosovo's democratic development in the years ahead.The ISG seeks to promote good governance, multi-ethnicity and the rule of law in Kosovo.

The ISG appointed Mr Pieter Feith to be the International Civilian Representative (ICR) for Kosovo.
